ABOUT SHARON

Sharon fell in love with stone 35 years ago. After working with clay, wood, metal and plaster, she understood that she could best express and share her creative voice through stone carving.

Her fascination with the origin of great sculptors led Sharon to Italy where she worked near the marble quarries of Michaelangelo. Inspired by the Renaissance, she explores with unlimited freedom the abstract expression of her ideas, feelings and philosophies, through the carving of stone.

For Sharon, stone holds the truth of the earth. It imparts energy with tactile fluency, and she feels its History and senses its Essence. Sharon describes her sculptures as a mirror for her internal explorations of spiritual growth.

Stone is a composite of all the elements: fire, air, earth and water - a totality of all Matter. Originally from Philadelphia, Sharon has built her home and studio at the New Jersey shore, where she has been an active participant in the arts community. She has maintained a devoted clientele of students for 30 years by her reputation as a mentor and teacher.
