TESTIMONIALS
"Taking the Artist's
Way with Sharon Gainsburg was a journey of personal enlightenment. As
a group, we shared laughter and tears, and in the end, were transformed
by our journey. Sharon brought us out of the shadows into the light of
our lives."- Linda
"Leap and the
net will appear."
I was at a crossroads in my life. After serving numerous years in management
at a design firm in New York City, and the birth of two children, I was
ready to turn to a more personal expression of visual art. I have always
been a workhorse, and extremely serious about whatever endeavor I have
decided to tackle. Yet, I was afraid and lacked confidence and vision
for where I wanted myself to be and to aspire to as an artist.
My friends had read the book in a workshop similar to Cameron's, lead
by a sculptor named Sharon Gainsburg. So, armed with a copy of the book
and an open mind, I decided to take the workshop in January of 1998.
"The Artist's Way" is a journey. I think that if a person is
willing to do the introspective and physical work that it suggests, it
can help one grow as an artist. I found that discussing the book in a
group situation was helpful and much more fun than going it alone. An
expert facilitator, Sharon Gainsburg, created a safe yet dynamic forum
for us to share ideas and experiences.
Four years later, I am still practicing many of the principles and good
habits taught in the book. I will always credit the reading of "The
Artist's Way" as a turning point in my development as an artist."

"I found out about
"The Artist's Way" at a time when I was re-evaluating my life:
What do I need to do to feel more personally fulfilled? Do I move? Do
I continue writing? Do I get a 9 to 5 job? The workshop offered by Sharon
Gainsburg couldn't have come at a better time. I found it a bonus that
we met in her sculptor's studio. Surrounded by her on-going work and that
of her students bolstered my hope as I made my way through some of the
tougher assignments in Julia Cameron's book on discovering and recovering
creativity in my life. Sharon was extraordinarily patient in her role
as guide and confidant, generously suggesting additional experiences to
get me me unstuck. I would do it again." - Helen-Chantal Pike, author
of "Asbury Park's Glory Days" and "Greetings From New Jersey"
"I tried doing the Artist's Way program
on my own and found it was very difficult to get the full value from the
program. Working with Sharon as a Facilitator, in a group setting, made
all the difference! Sharon guided us through the chapters, explaining
the purpose and benefits of each part of the process. With Sharon's help,
it was much easier to stay focused on our goals and the group setting
allowed us to learn more quickly by sharing experiences." - Pasha
"The Artists Way experience taught
me how difficult and how important it is to nurture yourself, to find
passions that exist within that are waiting to be uncovered and to have
the courage to follow those passions. It is the realization of an ongoing
journey that we are all on. Your group facilitation skills are excellent.
It is a fun process that makes each participant look within for their
own creative spirit." - Judy
