TESTIMONIALS & SHARED STORIES
Puerta Vallarta Intensives
"The sculpting workshop in Mexico was an intense physical, emotional
and spiritual journey for me. The physical challenged my body to explore
learning how to use the various tools to connect with my stone. The emotional
realm invited me to experience an intimate connection with my stone. The
spiritual journey was the process that allowed my mind, body, and spirit
to celebrate the risks I taken, to achieve a tremendous sense of accomplishment
and to bond intimately with the rest of the group. See you in 2004!"

"I arrived in Puerto
Vallarta without any idea or expectation of what I would encounter. I
had never stone carved before so I clearly had no experience. As the week
progressed, what I discovered was an amazing unfolding of the richness
in my artistic expression and my creative self. The incredible
experience was only more profoundly felt by the ability to live
with the studio. The house located in a residential community of
Puerto Vallarta allows for an authentic experience in Mexico coupled with
the creative process which takes place in the studio. This is on my highly
recommended list of experiences everyone should have!" -- Kimberley
Walsh
"I was so looking
forward to a week in Mexico, carving stone, with no outside distractions,
or ones that I impose on myself. It met my expectations and more. The
Casa Alejandra is beautiful and so inviting. The studio setting is superb,
looking out over the rooftops and being in our own secluded place. The
group was and is the most supportive and caring . That did not exclude
much laughter and great fun. Sharon, you are a gifted teacher and leader.
The experience for me, has been life changing." -- Sonia Goldstein
"This workshop was
absolutely unique. As someone totally naive to stone carving, it offered
an opportunity to learn from the very basics all the way through to a
finished piece. So the sense of ownership and accomplishment at the end
was there for everyone. There was equal attention directed at technical
mastery of the tools and techniques and the artistic and emotional mastery
of the process of creation. And all of this happened in a lovely studio
setting that was only matched by the comfortable informality reminiscent
of staying with a group of old friends. The site is not touristy, it breathes
local flavor even though the fun of the town begins just a few steps down
the hill. Selecting a place for each evening's dinner escapade became
a highlight and we were never disappointed. I could not recommend this
workshop more highly, especially for someone who might be looking for
something really different to expand their 'inner self'." -- Maureen
